Privacy Policy

TAGG lets you pin notes, photos, 3D objects, and playable mini-games to real places and find them again in AR. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Account. When you sign in with Apple we store a stable identifier for your account and, only if you choose to share them, your name and email. If you use “Hide My Email,” we only ever receive Apple’s private relay address.
- Location. We use your device location to place and discover tags nearby and to confirm you’re physically present when you pick up a tag or play an on-site game. A tag you create stores the coordinate you placed it at.
- Content you create. Tags and their text/subtitles, guestbook messages, reactions, trail and puzzle/word-game contributions, and your finds.
- Limited diagnostics. Basic error and reliability information to keep the service working.
How we use it
To provide the app: anchor and surface tags, run the finder and AR experiences, power gamification (leaderboards, badges, trails, collaborative games), and keep the community safe through moderation. We do not sell your personal data, and we don’t use your tag map for advertising.
What’s shared
Visibility is your choice per tag: private (only you), friends (people you mutually follow), or public (anyone nearby, and anyone with the share link). Content you make public — including a public tag’s title, guestbook entries, and your display name on leaderboards — is visible to others by design. We use a small number of service providers (e.g. hosting) that process data on our behalf.
Your controls
- Set any tag to private, friends-only, or public.
- Block another user to stop seeing their content.
- Report content for review.
- Delete individual tags at any time.
- Delete your account from the app’s Account screen — this permanently removes your account and the tags, finds, follows, reactions, and game contributions tied to it.
Retention
We keep your content until you delete it or your account. Deleting your account removes your data from our active systems; residual copies in encrypted backups age out on our normal backup cycle.
Children
TAGG isn’t directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
